To Mexico With Love - We will be doing a Dance and Dinner Fundraiser with a Lutheran church in Pacific Beach. We need new items donated for the Silent Auction also still needing a laptop for Jesse who has been ministering in Mexico. We will be selling t-shirts for the Medical Ministry. Cassandra Millan - Teaching in Ecuador - Most of you who are reading this know about the plans I believe God has for me. (Jeremiah 29:11, 12) These plans include going out to Ecuador for one year and volunteering at For His Children Orphanage in Quito. I plan to be working with Clark and Melinda Vaughan who began this work because they also had a passion to help little ones in need. As most of you know, for th epast few years I have been at the Mammoth Middle School as an aide for special needs children whose conditions range from Autistic to more severe forms of neurological disorders. I have also been taking Early Childhood Education classes to further my ability to help physically and mentally challenged children. These kids are all very precious to me. So, because of my love for these ones, when I heard of the unwanted, needy and discarded children at the Orphanage and the need for workers in Quito, my heart became stirred to do something for them. The more I prayed, the more I felt God's call for me to go to Ecuador. As I inquired about spending a year of my time there, God began opening doors fo rme, gradually at first, and now I believe all systems "are a go" to leave the States and let the Lord use me however He desires at the Orphanage. Language will not be a barrier since I am of Hispanic descent and can speak the language well. But I cannot do this alone. I am going to need much prayer and financial support form loving friends, family and fellow Christians like you to be able to do this. It will be you sending me out in the Lord's love to serve Him for one year doing what I believe He has called me to do. You will be on the mission field through me helping me to do what I believe God has commissioned me to do in service. I plan to leave in July of this year and return next July. Lord willing. My church, Mammoth Christian Fellowship her ein Mammoth Lakes, is partially supporting me, but it will take additional monthly income to be sel-supporting there. I will not receive a salary, so I must pay for my own housing, my food, etc. I am trusting that the Lord will lay upon your heart a way for you to help me. My thanks to you will be to pray for you and thank the Lord for you daily that you have enabled me to do what my heart desires to do for these little ones. I plan on sending out periodic newsletters to keep you all informed of what is being accomplished ther because YOU cared! Hoping to hear from you and thanking God for your listening ears and hearts.
